Salt Lake City

Salt Lake City is excited to be hosting school library professionals and the only national conference dedicated to their unique educational needs! The city is ready to make your time outside of the conference feel like an amazing adventure!

Nestled on the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and overlooking the largest inland lake in the western US, Salt Lake is home to a pioneering past, and an exciting future.

From a top shelf performing arts scene, to award-winning dining, you’ll get a sense of how this Old West town has become a forward-thinking, and burgeoning urban hub.

Visit Salt Lake has curated a website that includes all the things to fill your time – after all the conference learning, of course! The site includes places to dine, things to do, ways to get around, and facts about the city.

Are you looking for an easy way to experience some or all of the coolest things to see and do in and around Salt Lake City? The Connect Pass gets you into 16 of Northern Utah’s most popular attractions, all at huge savings.

Did You Know?

Salt Lake City was originally named Great Salt Lake City. Great was dropped from the name in 1868.
The Calvin L. Rampton Salt Palace Convention Center was named after Utah’s 11th governor, Calvin L. Rampton.
The Great Salt Lake is so salty, you’ll float! (But we don’t recommend you test this out while at #AASL21!)
